COMPLEX MEDICAL TEST RESULTS ANALYZED IN REAL-TIME

Medical devices are becoming more sophisticated in gathering detailed data about patients’ health. But our health care system is suffering from a serious decline in the number of medical practitioners qualified to interpret that data and assess its meaning. ASI’s PreAct® based Investigative Medical Associates encapsulate the medical knowledge of leading specialists. This can improve the accuracy and speed of data analysis and assessment and can be an invaluable aid to the diagnosis and treatment of many conditions.

One such system ASI developed uses hemodynamic parameters derived from Doppler spectral data readings of a patient’s cranial blood vessels. The system determines the hemodynamic state of individual vascular segments, and the overall cerebrovascular health of the patient – i.e., the likelihood of stroke and type of stroke most likely. The assessments derived by this system typically match the diagnoses of the leading specialists.
Similarly, ASI is designing an Investigative Medical Associate which will take data from sophisticated cardio-pulmonary exercise testing and within minutes project the likelihood and types of heart or lung problems that a patient may face. It is expected that this system will not only be faster but also as accurate as, much more invasive techniques– at a tiny fraction of the cost.

Other areas that could greatly benefit from the application of Investigative Medical Associates include oncology, urology, endocrinology and other areas where accurate, rapid assessment of test results is critical. If you are:

  • A developer of medical devices who wants to add a new level of intelligence to your devices either on-board or cross-platform or
  • A health care provider who wants the ability to quickly and effectively identify problems while taking potentially complex interactions into account.
