ASI Wins a Decision Aiding Tool  Contract to Assess the Effects of Diplomatic, Information, Military & Economic (DIME) Activities on US Army Tactical Operations

ROSWELL, Georgia, January 3, 2007 – Applied Systems Intelligence, Inc., (ASI) of Roswell, GA announced today that it has been awarded a $69,759 contract from the US Army Program Element Office, Command and Control and Communications Tactical, Fort Monmouth, NJ.

The Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract is to develop a decision aiding tool that assesses the effects of Diplomatic, Information, and Economic activities as well as Military (DIME) activities on the outcomes of military campaigns. The goal of DIME is to avoid counter-productive and conflicting activities in the conduct of tactical operations within a theater. For example, if restoring local agriculture to increase food supplies and encourage economic participation by the population is a high priority economic activity, a tactical operation that would disrupt agriculture and damage crops might be avoided if other more compatible operations could be performed instead.

Dr. Norm Geddes, ASI’s CEO said, “The Army needs a reliable, maintainable and deployable solution to estimating the effects of DIME tasks. Our approach is to develop a solution that is easily configured to the theater and produce understandable and immediately applicable results to be of value to a tactical commander.”
