     Applied Systems Intelligence (ASI) SensorShield® integrates CBRN sensor systems into an intelligent decision support system. SensorShield ASI’s intelligent cognitive engine integrates and analyzes information from sensor arrays and combines these with weather sources, geography/topology sources, hospital disease reports, animal disease vector information and terrorist threat sources to produce actionable intelligence and decision support. When combined with local resources military and civilian leaders are insured of having the most reliable information and decision alternatives for guiding decisions in a crisis.

      The intelligent system can also initiate automated sensor systems to gather further information, provide procedures and HAZMAT information to direct decontamination and treatment of exposed individuals, and to notify other support systems and individuals outside the direct control of the system.

      The intelligent decision support system provides intelligent displays to show only mission critical data appropriate to the individual user requirements. This reduces confusion and time to search out pertinent information and action recommendations during time critical events. This valuable tool for mission control centers, field commanders, front-line personnel, medical first responders, medical facilities and decontamination teams can coordinate actions to insure the best use of scarce resources.

     The intelligent SensorShield® system is designed to deal with routine sensor maintenance as well as catastrophic sensor grid damage due to localized explosive blasts or EMP attack. It is designed to distinguish between naturally occurring biological pathogens and a terrorist-initiated release.

     The highly advanced system is designed to accommodate aptamer or Spiegelmer sensors that recognize protein and DNA fragments and not just specific antigen sensors. Thus the system can identify multiple known biological hazards with only cell fragments, as well as new, unknown biological hazards through complex hierarchical sensor analysis. 

      The system tracks and predicts the movement of outdoor hazardous materials spread by wind from real-time Internet weather information plus the movement of hazardous materials through buildings. It resolves false positives, false negatives and contradictory data to reduce confusion and over-reaction. SensorShield® can be configured as a centralized or a distributed system providing flexibility in deployment. Distributed systems insure survival even with major system damage.
