DBPM (Dynamic Business Process Management)

Over the past several years, Business Process Management (BPM) has emerged as a business practice. However, its success to date has been limited. The reason is simple. BPM posits clearly defined, but static business processes. But in today’s world, business processes themselves must continuously adapt to the rapidly changing demands of customers and the market as well as new threats from competitors. Static BPM systems can’t handle dynamic business processes.

To address this need, ASI has patented the application of intelligent systems technology, such as the PreAct® cognitive engine, to the timely and effective management of dynamic business processes.

Dynamic Business Process Management uses a least-commitment planner to better handle the changes and uncertainties that inevitably occur in the real world. One embodiment of the invention provides a dynamic business process management system using partial-order planning. An additional embodiment of the invention includes an intent interpreter module that supports the implementation of intelligent decision support functionality for corporate information management.
